I thought the cinematic was cool. Open world shooters aren't my thing, but I wish them the very best in hopes of an SC3 one of these decades.

Re-boarding the 'MOBAs killed RTS' self-pity train again.

What is happening in Blizzard headquarters?
I'm seeing a lot of praise to them suddenly.

Apparently there's a new Warcraft game (based on Classic?) a new Warcraft III campaing, a new Diablo announced, a new series, another open world game?

Have not played any of these back then, only Warcraft III campaings and mods, which were really fun back then as a kid. (I remember playing the Dota mod alone for hours against bots).

If they're finally listening to fans, I'm glad, even though I will not play any of these anyway. haha

amok: You do know that Blizzard was reportedly Microsoft's top-performing studio within the Xbox studios division in FY2026? It also just recorded its first two consecutive years of revenue growth in almost a decade, with FY2026 being the third-highest year for revenue in Blizzard's entire history.
I did not know that in fact. So their reverse-Midas-touch has actually been a Midas-touch for their shareholders; interesting (and sad).

The thing is that you might not like what Blizzard is doing, but they have a huge player base that apparently does, and those people continue to buy and play their games. WoW is still one of the biggest MMOs in the world, Overwatch 2 remains one of the largest hero shooter, and then you have the various Diablo games and DLCs which continue to sell well.

So Blizzard is doing very well. You personally might dislike the direction the company has taken, dislike its business practices, but that is also completely separate from the question of whether Blizzard is commercially successful. And that Blizzard is successful is not exactly some closely guarded secret, all this is well known. Just thinking that Blizzard are doing badly just becuase you peronaly do not like them is close to being delusional.
Well, they're still good at making cinematics. Wouldn't be surprised if whatever this is a teaser for would be a decent thing to watch a good no commentary playthrough of, I guess.

Funny, I thought these new cinematics (Starcraft, WoW Forever and for the new Reforged campaign) were all rather bland compared to the indeed impressive cinematics they used to release. There are actually direct parallel's to the Wings of Liberty teaser and the original WoW cinematic and both of those, to me, just have way more personality and feel much more distinctly Starcraft and Warcraft and not just "some military sci-fi" and "some fantasy" (and this is coming from someone who never liked WoW).

But hey, it's probably just me being old and cloud-yelly.

They do have way better, yeah. But liked the irony of the SC one, how it builds up and how it ends.

Otherwise, want to point out the interesting parallel between this discussion and the most recent "omg, keep sex away from me" thread, in terms of what some see as trash, what others enjoy, and what sells well. With some of the same people involved in both discussions, but making opposite arguments.

From the "modern" cinematics, they honestly peaked in Diablo 3. It's amazing really, how good they look to this day.
