Apparently, ahead of the upcoming Blizzcon, the Stacraft 1 official page has started glitching out:
https://starcraft.blizzard.com/en-us/

There are some encoded messages too. Explored in this post:

According to some news sites, it'll probably be some kind of Starcraft FPS game. Either their own, or from Nexon, which recently partnered with Blizzard:
https://gamebastion.com/n/blizzard-seems-to-be-teasing-a-new-starcraft/520590

So as much as Starcraft 3 would be great, it's probably not going to be another entry to the main series. Shame.

SCV ready to go Sir
I remembr the rumours saying it was a Nexon thing because money.
Sadly, RTS games don't sell well enough to warrant the expense for anyone other than the tiny indie studios or one-man-shows outright.

Still, if it's a single-player game, I'd be interested hearing out what they have to say.
i just hope for starcraft series addons to be either made free or at least paid addons since it has many types of addons like preorders, exclusives etc and it's sad we can't buy them.
Whatever it is, it's going to be an always-online microtransaction extravaganza, so who cares, really?

Unless it's a movie, I guess. I could get hyped for that, depending on the cast and crew. Get Ridley Scott on it while he's still working!

Indeed. Heck, just from the cutscenes in SC2 it'd be half done, and pretty decent already.
Thanks for the visibility, OP.

Very happy this is getting more attention. The lore runs deep and the copium in me is screaming at devpubs to go back to a grittier and darker setting with this entry, even if it could be a 3rd party spin-off and shooters aren't for me.
Does it matter? It won't be DRM free so if you are part of the "buy, don't rent" crowd you won't be swayed.

I still play SC/BW, but although I did have weakness and buy the different episodes of SC2 I hope I'm wiser now.
The story is developing:

Do open the SC1 page again.

Those of us who are not fanatical about it would still be quite pleased.
Starcraft 2 was basically played for the multiplayer. As for the original it gained a huge following over in Korea back in the day.

Single player campaigns for both the original and expansion pack were challenging but satisfying. It's still one of the most balanced RTS games I ever played.

Sadly, not only will a sequel more than likely do poorly in sales, Blizzard Entertainment is virtually unrecognizable at this point. All of the old heads are gone. Blizzard merged with Activision back in 2008, and both have been bought by Microsoft, who is not particularly good about keeping their development houses in working order.
It is indeed mystery why there is no entry for Starcraft in GoG's store...

No, wait... I think I have just solved it.

Expect Remastered version (which will be basically original made working under Win11) for the mere price of $49.99! Terran Campaign of course. Zerg and Protoss one coming soon to you as DLCs!

I'm pretty sure there already was a remaster. Of course, it's been almost a decade, so they may as well remaster the remaster. Or remake the remaster and remaster the remake.

Oh, I'm sure they will. Expecting nothing less from MS!

I'm talking about availability on GOG though - expecting it (like original Stalker, or Baldur's Gate games) being bundled only with 'better' version. And throwing reference to Paradox philosophy of making games: slashing complete title into pieces and realeasing it in parts.
