So you know what I'm tired of? LLMs and generative systems being used as an excuse to stifle creativity. As such, I'd like to have a disclosure/seal of doom stamped onto games of which use this absolutely turgid night soil.Developers would be asked at (great potential penalty, up to removal) to be honest about the matter and to what extent. This would apply retroactively, indefinitely, and to any future updates a title would receive.
I'd love an "involves ai generated content" tag. I don't wanna support anything with ai for they don't respect their own game and employees.
It's genuinely disheartening (to put it gently) to see ANYTHING AI listed on the storefront. While I'd rather a total ban on it entirely, at least having a way to filter it out would be desirable. Could've sworn Cyberpunk's corpos gutting the soul of humanity for the sake of profit and power was a BAD THING that we should AVOID, not embrace.

AI is not new! AI has been used in video game development for over 8 decades! Hey, I have been using AI in my games even, to make the movements of the enemy characters more natural-looking. No AI? Then stay away from games with NPCs in it! You guys make no sense!

Ridiculous and naive. If you use a computer for programming, rendering, design, or anything serious, you're using AI. So you'd have no games after 2023 on the platform. Have already seen this result in cleavage of the Godot community with the people that contribute the least being most in favor of this sort of thing. I no longer use the engine for anything and most actual programmers and creatives (not weekend tumblr hobby artists) have similarly left. If you don't like AI, don't buy any software made after 2023. Or cars. Or TVs. Or streaming. It's a tool used by professionals. All professionals.
AI disclosure is, quite frankly, silly. This will most likely be a dead-letter inside of five years. I guarantee that the majority of new games use AI to some degree. This percentage will likely approach 100% by 2028. All the 'anti-AI' action is going to accomplish is increase the cost of development, which will defacto hurt small studios/indies.

Use of generative AI is disgusting and repulsive. The only reason to hide its use is because it will affect sales. By failing to discolose it, people might buy a game when they wouldn't if the knew it was made with generative AI. To me, this is fraud.

Is this a problem here? Thankfully not seen it yet, the only benefit to the "curation" that keeps so many great games off GOG when they should be here, but I know Steam has become a slop pit in recent years. Anyway, definitely a necessary thing, any AI is grounds for a refund and I'd rather not be sending request for those to GOG.

AI disclosure is necessary
It should be like in Itch io, where if you mark a game as having AI generated content it opens a submenu asking where it is (code, art, music...). I feel that Steam's method is too vague and that the devs never really say where the AI was used, just that it was used.
I'm pro-AI in most cases but I agree entirely that AI disclosure should be a requirement for all art forms. Let people keep using AI and making art with it (including games) but the customer should be informed before making a purchase.
This is the reason why I came to the community wishlist today. There should be a stamp or seal and a scale of grading. Generative AI in game mechanics is one thing. There's a whole genre of games with randomly generated levels. The use of generative AI in the "creation" of game graphics and visual assets is another thing entirely. The introduction of this mark could help tilt the future of game development and foster human digital artists.

Being able to see if game consist some AI-generated stuff is essential part of customer service, not only because of the ethical side, but also because AI-filled games actually must either provide more gameplay diversity and/or playtime hours than typical nonAI title, or cost less due to the cheaper and faster production.
